Is there public transport in Maleny or nearby?

The closest train station linking the Sunshine coast hinterland to Brisbane, Gold Coast and beyond is Beerwah station

Do you need a car to get around Maleny and the Sunshine Coast Hinterland

How close is The Refuge to the nearest town?

Our closest town is Peachester with a small cafe, general convenience store,1 unleaded fuel pump and local fruit/veg shop. There are Woolworths in our closest towns - Maleny (20 minute drive) Woodford (15 min drive) and Beerwah (17 min drive)

Do you host large groups for work retreats and corporate events?

What farm animals do you have?

If you are looking for a luxury farmstay near Maleny look no further! We have cute Alpacas, goats, pigs, chickens and ducks. Click here to see pics of our darling animals.

Can I feed the animals?

Our friends in the field will love it if you feed them, pat them and brush them. Just be careful of the electric fence and don't feed the pigs by hand - they can get snappy! We provide animal food pellets in each accommodation if you would like to feed the animals

What fire options are there at The Refuge?

It gets chilly up here in the mountains so having a fire is the perfect way to relax in the evening! The Main Residence has an indoor fireplace in the living room to keep you toasty warm. There is an outdoor firepit located opposite the animal paddocks (approx 300m walk from the house). All fireplaces are stocked with firewood year round.

Where can I get a Special Occasion Cake near Maleny?

We host a lot of groups celebrating Birthdays, baby showers, hens/bucks weekends, anniversaries, honeymoons, babymoons and weddings! It can be hard to know where to find a good quality cake if you are not from the area...here are our top suggestions:
